When I talk about hybrids, I’m not willing to sacrifice anything. I want the convenience of a road bike, the rigidness of a mountain bike and the comfort that a cruiser offers.
Taking that into concern, if I had to recommend a few great hybrid bikes to my female readers, the Schwinn 700c Admiral will make it to the above the fold position of the list.
It is designed to meet all the requirements that we desire from a hybrid bike. It’s solid as a mountain bike, it was comfortable just like a cruiser bike and at the same time, it’s convenient like a road bike. I must thank the engineers that designed this machine.
In this 700c Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike review, we’re going to dive deep into the bike and find out why it’s such an amazing bike.
Schwinn Wayfarer/admiral women’s hybrid bike review – Why this model?
Mostly because it does what it’s supposed to do. Many other hybrid claims to be good at different terrains but it does that in real life.
Along with the proper functionality, this bike makes the riders’ life easy. I’m saying this because this bike doesn’t cause any hassle to the owner. Most other bikes tend to have little issues here and there which takes your time and effort to solve.
But this bike seems to work great, without any issues whatsoever, once assembled correctly.
Talking about assembly, it’s very crucial to assemble the bike by a trained technician. The future performance of the bike depends greatly on the proper assembly of the bike.
I have seen cases where two different people have the same bike, yet getting different results out of their machine. This could happen because of the initial assembly of the bike.
Feature of the Schwinn Wayfarer/Admiral Women’s Hybrid Bike
Hybrid bikes are meant to be versatile and the Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike is no different. One might take it to the school whereas others might rush on it towards the office or go out on an afternoon leisure ride.
But these don’t really prove the versatility of a hybrid bike if you do not test it on tough conditions like off-road terrain. This bike is quite impressive on off-road tracks as well. So it could be your partner on that fun weekend ride to the mountains.
However, the tires of this bike are not really on that fat side. It was done to reduce the effort needed to drive the bike. But that comes at a cost of slightly decreased performance off the road.
This is still good on off roads, but not as great as a proper off-roader with a pair of fat-ass tires.
Another great aspect of the Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike is that this bike is durable and demands very minimal maintenance. Thus you do not have to spend a lot of time behind your bike.
Swept back handlebars
The cockpit of the bike is designed to keep the rider in proper shape. The swept-back upright handlebars keep the rider in an upright riding position which is known to be the best practice according to medical science.
Such a comfortable and healthy seating position makes this bike suitable for longer routes. You can ride this bike for hours and hours yet feel no significant back pain.
And credit for that goes to the soft and comfortable seat as well. The seat has nice grooves that fit a woman’s body perfectly and ensures a firm hold. The padding is soft so you feel comfortable in extended riding sessions as well.
Amazing Build Quality
This bike is built to last for years after years. I’m saying that because of the quality of steel used to craft this bike. I felt the steel was so rigid that it could handle any kind of possible stress you put on it.
Take it to the mountains and it won’t break.
The bicycle was designed intelligently to face the minimum resistance of the wind. I have to thank the engineering team working behind it. They’ve designed this bike to run more with less effort because of the decrease resistance of the air.
Adds to that is the comparatively thinner tire. Thinner tires get less friction of the road and thus they are more efficient with riders’ energy. They run more freely on the road and you have to put less effort into it.
You get extra speed on this bike if you’re in a rush.
The tradeoff that this bike did with mountain rides having a thinner tire seems to pay off handsomely here.
It’s obvious that the Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike has girl-ish looks. I like the looks of this bike. The sky-blue color gives the machine quite a charming look.
There are few decals of flowers on the chain cover. Such little details are here and there to make this bike look girly and attractive. The finishing of the silver color on the rims and other places are so perfectly done.
The main chassis is painted sky-blue and the other areas, like the mudguard, the handlebar, rim, etc. are painted silver. The silver and sky-blue combination looks classy, I must say.
However, looks, at the end of the day is a personal preference so bring your judgment here. I know a girl who absolutely hated the flower decals on the chain cover. So look at the pictures closely and then decide yourself.
The components of the Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike is the reason why it works so smoothly. Every component is branded and together they have a nice combination that makes the bike so smooth.
For example, the Shimano rear derailleur does an excellent job at providing great performance and speed control. The 7-speed twist shifters from Schwinn themselves offers fast and smooth gear change.
The braking of this bike is nicely functional and provides confidence to the rider.
That was it for our 700c Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike review. For the bottom line, I feel that the Schwinn admiral women’s hybrid bike is a great deal for the price. It looks good, works well, and lasts long and whatnot. There’s no significant downside of the bike either.
If you’re getting this home, you’re going to ride it for a long time without any hassle.
